Black Widow were a group that achieved some notoriety in the late 60’s, early 70’s for their live show that included simulations of ritual human sacrifice and elements of black masses. Apart from all these artifices they were a magnificent band with three recommendable albums, four if we include Pesky Gee’s, key to understand the musical evolution from psychedelia to progressive rock. The T-shirts that we present to you are two different designs depending on whether you choose the white or the black one. The white one is a design of a poster of a 1969/1970 concert with a magnificent typography design; the black one is a composition from the design of their first single, Come to the Sabbat, changing some sizes and disposition to fit well on the T-shirt, all this, as always, respecting original typographies and elements.

Limited edition 25 handnumbered copies only!

Undoubtedly Black Widow has been a group always little considered in relation to the music of the British Isles in the late 60s where hard rock and progressive rock began to dominate the charts and the predilection of the public, Black Widow and its first incarnation, Pesky Gee, were not of that kind as they came from soul and their music has more importance in the horn section and hammond organ than the electric guitar. In addition their live performance was shocking since they included representations of a human sacrifice where the singer nailed a ceremonial dagger to a naked woman while they played their song Sacrifice, we suppose that bands like Hawkwind took note of this type of live acts. Leaving aside their live performances, from Green Slime Shop we recommend both their album with Pesky Gee and their first two albums as Black Widow.
