In 1980 The Sound became known to fans of music that encompassed the sounds coming from the punk explosion such as Siouxsie and the Banshees, Joy Division/New Order, PIL and a long etc. all of them with their own particularities. In the case of The Sound, the band led by Adrian Borland, their sound was more similar to Joy Division’s with cold and repetitive rhythms, but with a fury and unbridled guitars.

Their two great and memorable albums Jeopardy and From the Lions Mouth, which were published by the subsidiary of Warner, Korova that also had in their catalog Echo & the Bunnymen, had a great acceptance on the part of critics and public and The Sound became one of the great names of the alternative scene of the beginning of the 80s.
